"I was born in a family of farmers in a small village of Rajasthan in India. Since my early childhood, my tender mind sensed an agitation, an excitement and a craving for something unknown, whenever I heard a rhythm, a tune or any melody. At the age of 14, I left my home for Delhi in the quest of my existence, my dreams with nothing in my pocket and without telling anyone.
For the support bestowed upon me by my guru Sh Rajinder Gangani during that period of struggle and hardship, I will be indebted to him forever who was the first one to observe my unexplored energy and my thirst to learn and hence, taught me in such a way that I could aspire to fulfill my lifelong endeavor.
Though I am a professional dancer when I sing, I feel that music is the air in which I am breathing and whenever I dance, I know my movements are articulating some voice in space. I always hear melody, a rhythm, a song of the body in the sound of my intricate spontaneous footwork patterns. For me, dancing is like giving a visible form to the song of the soul."
